The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research (ptr.pharmacy.ufl.edu) invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Associate or full Professor. This is an exciting opportunity to join the PTR faculty at the Gainesville campus of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Florida.

The selected candidate will be expected to establish a program of research in areas relating to cancer health disparities and health equity. Responsibilities include research, teaching, and active participation in the department and College. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a leadership role in the Florida-California Cancer Research, Education & Engagement (CaRE2) Center. The CaRE2 Center is a collaboration between the University of Florida (UF), Florida A&M University (FAMU), and the University of Southern California-Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center (USC-NCCC) to eliminate cancer health disparities in Florida, California and nationally. The long-term goals of the CaRE2 center are to reduce cancer disparities in Blacks and Latinos, to train and increase the pool of underrepresented Black and Latino scientists conducting health disparity research, to increase research capacity at FAMU, and to increase cancer disparity research at UF and USC-NCCC.

They include the colleges of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine.

The College of Pharmacy is partnered closely with major centers and institutes located at the University of Florida, including the UF Health Cancer Center, the UF Genetics Institute, the Clinical and Translational Science Institute, and the Emerging Pathogens Institute, all of which provide state-of-the-art environments and access to large data sets for faculty collaboration. Qualifications:

Applicants should have a doctoral degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD) and experience that merits appointment as an associate or full Professor. Excellent teaching and communication skills are essential. The well-qualified candidate will have a distinguished record of scholarly achievement, academic program administration, teaching and mentoring, and leadership experience consistent with the rank of associate or full professor. FDLE Criminal Background Check Required.
