Your opportunity:

Infrastructure Planning plays an important role in the planning, design and implementation of physical space for departments, centres and institutes within the Faculty. We provide leadership and assistance on a broad range of infrastructure and planning projects and liaise with a variety of university groups that have a role in planning and construction. Infrastructure Planning ensures coordination between the various groups and success of overall project objectives.

This position will report to the Director, Infrastructure Planning and provide support to the wide team team which includes preparingcad drawings, site surveying and coordinating moves and site access. The Coordinator will be expected to visit work sites and ensure projects are progressing on time and report back to the Facility Designers if things need to be escalated or are not following plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing technical design documents prior to revision
  • Scheduling consultant activities
  • Liaising between stakeholders and/or contractors
  • Resolving issues within the scope of the role and escalating problems as required
  • Collecting on-site measurements
  • Liaising with contacts to coordinate the installation of furnishings
  • Producing technical documentation and CAD drawings for approval
  • Developing technical specifications for inclusion on CAD drawings

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced College Diploma (3 years) or acceptable combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years experience with drafting and preparing CAD drawings, on-site measurements and surveys and office support.
  • Experience in project coordination in infrastructure planning and/or architecture.
  • Experience supporting a large portfolio of projects with extremely tight deadlines.
  • Experience using, creating and working with CAD drawings.
  • Must be detail oriented, handle multiple tasks and prioritize to meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated advanced working knowledge in MS Office Suite software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of drafting and experience in CAD drawing.
  • Proficient in Autocad.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
