Job Description:


  • Coordinate clinical agreements with affiliating clinical agencies.

  • Collaborate with Director and faculty to identify future developments in health care that will impact clinical, simulations, and learning laboratory experiences.

  • Collaborate with course coordinators and learning resource lab coordinator in developing course content and related laboratory and simulation needs and experiences.

  • Develop and schedule clinical experiences with affiliating clinical agencies.

  • Maintain Centralized Clinical Placement Grid (CCP) and represent college at all CCP meetings and communications.

  • Coordinate required student clinical compliance documentation with CCP requirements.

  • Assist with annual review and evaluation of clinical sites and program evaluation related to clinical experiences.

  • Attend scheduled general faculty, school faculty, and Department of Nursing faculty meetings.

  • Teach course content related to clinical education including mentoring and advising in preparation for clinical experiences and other nursing content areas as assigned by program director.

  • Participate, in accordance with Departmental and College need, in the ongoing design and continuous implementation of assessment of student learning outcomes and academic program improvement activities in the areas of General Education and the academic major; attend AIC assessment workshops.

  • Assist with the establishment and monitoring of procedures for use of simulation equipment and conducting simulation experiences both virtual and face-to-face.

  • Hold at least four office hours weekly, scheduled to meet needs of students, and be available to meet with students as needed at other times.

  • Participate in professional development activities related to one's faculty role including maintain up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practice in area of clinical expertise and specialized clinical credentials.

  • Other duties as assigned by chair/director or dean.



Requirements:


  • Required Degree(s): Master's degree in nursing

  • Preferred Degree(s): Doctorate

  • Required Field of Expertise: at least 3 years of professional practice experience as a registered nurse

  • Required Licensure(s): Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Strong commitment to high quality instruction in a diverse, student-centered environment and the ability to work with students with various learning styles and backgrounds

  • Interest in active and collaborative learning and enthusiasm for working in an interprofessional setting

  • Ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere among students, faculty, and staff within a diverse environment

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; experience with health care equipment and technology, experience with or willingness to learn use of educational technology

Work Schedule


This is a full-time, 10-month (mid-August through mid-June), exempt level, benefit eligible position. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, flexible to the needs of the department. Occasional nights and weekends required as needed.
