Presentation College (www.presentation.edu) is seeking nominations and applications for a Nursing Faculty position for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program in Aberdeen, South Dakota location.  The faculty of the Presentation College Department of Nursing work collaboratively with the Program Director and Dean of Nursing in advancing the objectives of the nursing program to provide educational excellence.  Together, they develop and implement the curriculum based on the program objectives with the end result being to graduate baccalaureate-prepared nurses.

As part of the Presentation College Learning Community, you will be expected to play a role in supporting the legacy of the Presentation Sisters, in promoting the Mission, living the Core Values, and furthering the Vision.

Presentation College is an independent, Catholic, higher educational institution sponsored by the Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (PBVM). Founded in 1951, Presentation College is a specialty Health Science Baccalaureate institution. The campus is located in Aberdeen, SD. The College also offers instruction online through PC Virtual.

Responsibilities:

  • Accepts accountability for supporting student learning through quality instruction (theory as well as clinical instruction) for all BSN nursing courses upon which the faculty member, Program Director, and the Dean of Nursing agree.
  • Has a comprehensive understanding of the rules and regulations for both the nursing accreditations and state Boards of Nursing.
  • Assists the faculty, Program Director, and Dean of Nursing in developing, implementing, and evaluating the BSN program.
  • Fulfills faculty workload requirements through excellence in teaching, course-related advising, scholarship, and service to the College and community.
  • Provides educational excellence in the learning classroom.
  • Conducts all classes in accordance with an established and current course syllabus, submitted following established guidelines each semester, and the approved textbook and/or related instructional material.  Participate in textbook adoption and review as appropriate.
  • Participates in student-faculty activities that serve to strengthen student- faculty relationships.
  • Maintains student attendance, grade, and discipline records as required by the College.
  • Serves on College and/or faculty standing committees and attends appropriate College meetings.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development of the nursing program through unit and course revision and refinement and the implementation of formative and summative evaluation processes.
  • Remains current with the changing trends in education and practice.
  • Participates in professional and community activities.
  • Maintains personal growth and development through ongoing faculty development activities and annual growth plan.
  • Engages students in a collaborative teaching environment.
  • Takes leadership role in course evaluation and revision to improve existing course.
  • Develops clinical practice sites and engages in overseeing student learning.
    • Assists with student recruitment and retention.
    • Serves as liaison with external bodies on matters relating to public relations, professional standards, and accreditation reviews.

    Qualifications:

    The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree with doctorate prefered.  Must have an unencumbered nursing license in the state of nursing practice. Must have two years of clinical expertise in nursing.
