Job Summary

The focus of the Part-Time Specialist is to establish a targeted social media presence for the campus in accordance with the guidelines provided by the College

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Directs the day-to-day updating, maintenance and continuity of public media outlets, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  • Monitors the impact of public media by tracking metrics and analyzing the effectiveness of campaigns
  • Monitors and responds to conversations and keeps key stakeholders informed of trends and topics of interest
  • Researches sources and current events to use on public media networks
  • Distributes promotional material through campus
  • Researches sources and current events to use on public media networks
  • Maintains editorial calendar for key public media initiatives to provide fresh and engaging content on a daily basis
  • Identifies ways to promote campus events by media visibility and enhance its reputation through innovative use of public media
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree and three (3) years of related experience in public media platforms; or Associate's degree and five (5) years of related experience in public media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedln, and blogs or YouTube
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive topics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, database and technical applications specific to department area
  • Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
