Departmental Objective:

To provide safe and efficient parking and transportation services campus-wide in a professional, well-organized manner. To assist campus administrators, faculty/staff, students, and visitors with parking and transportation needs on a daily basis, during conferences, events, and athletics events.

Purpose of the Position:

This position will serve as the front line personnel to provide administrative and customer service support to the Office of Parking Services. It will project a positive image of the department and university to all constituents.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA's) and/or Competencies required and preferred:

Required:

Demonstrated knowledge of professional administrative office practices and procedures

Proficient computer skills in word processing and spreadsheets

Ability to interact with the public using exceptional customer service skills and conflict resolution skills

Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment in applying policies and procedures

Ability to work with and maintain databases

Preferred:

Knowledge of SCT Banner

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required :

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license

Experience Required:

Experience working with the public in a professional office setting

Experience with word processing

Experience with spreadsheets

Cash handling experience

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Preferred :

Education Preferred: College coursework in Business or related field.

Experience Preferred:

Experience in a college or university setting

Experience using a Point of Sale Cash register

Experience with Microsoft Office software

Conditions of Employment:

This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period; Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
