Oversees the daily operations of the Virtual SMART Center and assists with daily operations of the center appointment programs. Supervises and evaluates student tutors. Assists in developing and conducting training programs. Increases community engagement and fosters a welcoming, diverse and inclusive environment. Coordinates and supports tutors in creating, scheduling, promoting and preparing for workshops, club and/or group events. Responsibilities
1. Demonstrates center best practices and tutoring pedagogy to student assistants, tutors, students and faculty
2. Oversees daily operations of the assigned locations, including coordinating with leadership to ensure proper coverage in appropriate courses
3. Supervises tutoring staff including coordinating and supporting tutors and resolving issues and concerns
4. Provides a tutoring schedule that meets the needs of the students, has peak hour availability as needed
5. Manages tutoring appointment schedule
6. Provides input on personnel decisions (i.e., interviewing, hiring and evaluating tutors)
7. Supports leadership in creating and delivering training, mentoring and professional development to tutors
8. Assists in creating and disseminating print, digital and social media promotional marketing materials Required Qualifications MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor's from an accredited institution of higher education in a related fieldMINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years' experience in an academic tutoring center, including one (1) year of experience in an online tutoring centerMINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW AND/OR INSTITUTION:
None Preferred Qualifications
Involvement in professional tutoring organizations (ACTP, NCLCA, ACTLA, etc.)
Experience in a supervisory role Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of tutoring center pedagogy and best practices
Able to promote and market programs and services in digital, print and social media platforms
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficiency with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite, D2L Brightspace, Owl Express/Banner Student Information Systems, Canva, etc.)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
