Senior Donor Engagement Officer

Georgia College is accepting applications for the Senior Donor Engagement Officer.  This position is a rewarding opportunity with Georgia's designated public liberal arts university.

This position is responsible for working with units on campus (in this case primarily the Bunting College of Business) to identify major gift prospects and develop solicitation strategies that are donor-centric and will maximize each individual's support of the university.

The university’s beautiful and historic campus is located in Milledgeville, Georgia, a small, diverse college town of 19,000 residents who enjoy the environmental and recreational benefits of being on the banks of beautiful Lake Sinclair and Lake Oconee. Milledgeville is located only an hour and half drive from man cultural and arts activities in the city of Atlanta.

Responsibilities for this position include:

Fund Raising I - 75
Manages a portfolio of 75-90 prospects and donors which are mostly at the $10,000+ level. Responsible for identifying and building relationships with major gift prospects, developing strategies for their cultivation, and soliciting gift working with the faculty, staff and volunteers as appropriate.

Fund Raising II - 10
Collaborates with the Donor Engagement Coordinator to develop a strategy for the annual solicitation of prospects in his/her portfolio.

Public Relations - 5
Assists in the staffing of volunteer groups that may be created to engage and involve donors and prospects.

Special Projects - 5
Stewards current and past donors of the unit.

Data Processing/Entry - 5
Tracks and manages contacts and proposals through the Prospect/Proposal Management System.

 

Required Qualifications:

Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree in a related field.

Required Experience
3-5 years experience in a fund raising position.  Demonstrated experience in volunteer engagement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Graduate degree

Preferred Experience
5+ years related experience
Experience in higher education or non-profit
