Position SummaryUniversity Information Services (UIS) provides technical services and enterprise applications to the University of Colorado’s (CU) four campuses and the Office of the President. UIS is committed to excellence in customer service, technical expertise, and the development of enterprise applications responsible for supporting CU’s students, faculty, human resources employees, finance employees, and others.

The CRM Organizational Change Manager is responsible for ensuring that constituent relationship management (CRM) projects and change initiatives meet objectives by increasing adoption and usage of new and improved technology tools, business processes, and organizational structures. This role focuses on the people-side of change with a primary emphasis on creating and implementing change management strategies and plans related to the implementation of the Salesforce platform and related tools at the University of Colorado (CU).

The CRM Organizational Change Manager works closely with departmental and campus leadership, faculty, governance structures, system-wide stakeholders, and organizations to understand the environment and needs associated with change plans and impending work updates. This role will actively create and implement plans for formalized change management initiatives, as well as establish informal relationships with peers across the CU.

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Organizational Change Management (OCM) and is exempt from the State of Colorado Classified System.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: 

  • Creates and applies a structured change management methodology and leads related activities including, but not limited to, the following activities:
    • Assesses impacts of proposed changes
    • Completes change management assessments
    • Creates change management strategies
    • Consults and coaches project teams on planned changes and how to manage those changes
    • Creates actionable deliverables for communications, training, sponsorship, and stakeholder management
    • Engages and supports senior leaders in their role as sponsors of change by increasing leadership buy-in through information findings and change management knowledge
    • Coaches managers and supervisors on how to manage change and act as sponsors of change
    • Integrates change management activities and tasks into project plans
    • Evaluates and ensures the impacted community is ready for change
    • Defines and measures success metrics to ensure change is embraced and adopted
    • Tracks and reports issues through the course of a change
Who we are: System Administration, which also houses the Office of the President, is located in the uptown neighborhood of Denver with a few smaller offices located on the campuses.  However, this position is located in {Location} {or this position has the ability to work remotely.}  Many of our departments support the educational and research missions of the four University of Colorado campuses, but System Administration is not considered a campus. What we offer:

Salary: The anticipated hiring salary range has been established at $82,400 - $102,222.

The market salary range for this position is $82,400 - $113,400.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or anticipated hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

The main project for this position is slated to conclude June 30, 2023, and this position may or may not continue past that date.

Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTo be successful in this position, candidates will need the following:

  • Knowledge of Organizational Change Management processes and best practices
  • Knowledge of project management processes and lifecycles, including familiarity with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
  • Knowledge of Agile processes
  • Knowledge of Salesforce functionality and usage
  • Presentation skills, including the ability to articulate messages to a variety of audiences
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments and time commitments, create schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions
  • Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others
  • Customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen, address customer needs, defuse tense situations, and maintain an open, flexible, and friendly demeanor

  • Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems 
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and be resilient with a propensity to persevere
  • Ability to translate and explain technical concepts and vocabulary in common terms to non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results 
  • Ability to navigate a complex political environment 
  • Ability to work with people of varying skills and knowledge
  • Ability to engage with senior management and gather their feedback


Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education, or equivalent professional experience (professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis)
  • Three (3) years’ experience in an organizational change management role, which must include:
    • Project management experience
    • Experience developing communication strategies for change initiatives
  • Occasional travel to the CU campuses required 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five (5) years’ experience in an organizational change management role, as indicated above
  • Prior experience working with or in government or an institution of higher education
  • Consulting experience on large-scale, transformational projects
  • Formal certification in industry-standard change management methodologies (e.g. Prosci, Kotter, Association of Change Management Professional’s Standard for Change Management)
  • OCM experience implementing Salesforce
