Position Summary:
The Office of Admissions part-time staff member will assist with the daily general operations of the office. This includes serving as a front-line representative for the office, answering incoming phone calls, assisting prospective students with admission questions, and assisting full-time staff with application processing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answer incoming calls from the main Office of Admissions number
- Greet visitors to the office in the front lobby
- Assist admission analyst with application processing, including processing documents, checking data in Slate, and corresponding with students about their admission status
- Complete other tasks as assigned by the Senior Director

General Days/Hours:
Two shifts available:
Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. and
Monday – Friday 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree (any discipline) preferred;
prior customer service experience required;
experience in higher education preferred.

Arkansas State, founded in 1909, is the second-largest university in the state. It is located on Crowley’s Ridge in Jonesboro, the largest city in eastern Arkansas and the economic hub of the region. While it does not award degrees, the Honors College is a component of the university’s academic structure. The Department of Military Science provides programs for students who aspire to be U.S. Army officers.

The Arkansas State University System is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor of Arkansas to serve staggered seven-year terms. The trustees hire the system president, approve the curriculum, annually approve an operating budget, and establish policies for the efficient and effective operation of the institutions.
