Research Assistant II, Huntingtons Disease Care Education and Research Center Georgetown University Medical Center

Research Assistant II, Huntington's Disease Care Education and Research Center - Georgetown University Medical Center

Georgetown's Huntington's Disease Care, Education, and Research Center uses a multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of patients and their families. Consistent with Georgetown University Medical Center's devotion to cura personalis - cure of the whole person, the HDCERC aims towards cura familia - care of the whole family. Our services and support encompass family members and caregivers.

The Research Assistant II assists with clinical trial implementation, clinic scheduling and operations, and with clinical trials. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Research Assistant II has duties that include but are not limited to:

Support for Trials and Studies
  • Conduct regular visits for clinical trials
  • Perform data entry and queries for all studies
  • Assist with regulatory management for all studies including modifications and study sponsor initiated amendments
  • Assist with tasks related to patient follow-ups
  • Assist with keeping all study binders up to date
  • Assist in ordering supplies for studies as needed


Coordination and Program Support
  • Schedule meetings, clinics, and pre-clinic calls
  • Coordinate with Neurology staff and Social Worker to schedule rooms, as well as for clinics and other visits to ensure all patients are in the system prior to visits
  • Provide overall clinic support - to include navigating where patients and teams need to be during the clinic and keeping team up to date as things change throughout the day
  • Assist with keeping patient charts up to date and with scanning in hard documents to the EMR
  • Maintain updated master list to track all studies and their tasks
  • Assist with Outreach project to local LTC facilities and community doctors
  • Assist with Education days and series
  • Assist with Newsletters or updates to go out to HD Center patients or other professionals
  • Assist with HD Resource Guide, completion and updates as needed
  • Update the HDCERC website


Administration
  • Provide administrative support for Director of the Center, Program Manager, and Social Worker.
  • Find and edit references in publications
  • Assist with creating and editing posters

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience conducting structured interviews
  • Data entry skills experience
  • Knowledgeable about good clinical practice with human subjects research
