Position Summary

Serves as the college’s contact for the Perkins Grant, Programs of Study grants. Responsible for the Carl D. Perkins CTE grant and Arizona State and Federal Programs of Study grants. This position may only work on CTE and Perkins approved programs due to being fully funded by the Carl D. Perkins grant. This is a grant-funded, full-time, 12-month, benefit-eligible position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports goals and objectives for the Carl D. Perkins grant programs. Assists in the assurance that goals and objectives are in alignment with institutional strategic planning goals and the overall statewide and national goals for the programs.
  • Facilitates the writing and submittal of the Perkins grant application. Communicates with staff and faculty to document Perkins grant progress. Assists the dean in submitting Perkins grant narrative reports and, as needed, performance improvement plans.
  • Supports the dean and helps facilitate the Perkins Grant Advisory Committee and subcommittees.
  • Assists CTE faculty and staff with equipment purchases, travel claims, professional development and other Perkins funded opportunities.
  • Assists with conducting the Programs of Study (POS) required consortia self-assessment three times a year and implements any needed improvement steps as directed by the State.
  • Oversees creation and review of POS templates by consortia high schools and joint Certificate of Completion applications to the Arizona Department of Education.
  • Supports training and professional development opportunities for POS members.
  • With the Dean of CTE, responsible for planning and implementation of POS funded events including the POS consortia quarterly meetings, High School Counselors day, and the Business and Industry Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Assists in training CTE faculty and staff on Perkin’s Grant regulations and allowable funding projects.
  • Assists in marketing and publicity for Perkins and POS CTE programs including CTE Job Cards and traveling exhibit board.
  • Collaborates with the CTE Specialist and Dean on CTE outreach efforts.
  • Maintains Perkins and CTE webpage in collaboration with the Dean and CCC marketing.
  • Maintains database for Perkins outcomes including longitudinal employment data.
  • Works with the foundation to maintain connections with CCC CTE alumni.
  • Uploads and maintains current CCC listings for Eligible Training Provider Lists.
  • Provides Perkins updates at CTE faculty/staff meetings.
  • Completes requisitions and procurement procedures for CTE and grant expenditures, including initiating budgetary expenditures and tracking expenditures for Perkins and POS budgets.
  • Maintains grant equipment lists including performing annual inventory and taking corrective action where needed to ensure equipment is housed and utilized in accordance to State and Federal equipment guidelines.
  • Actively supports a positive and collaborative workplace environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Experience with administrative processes and knowledge of MS Office and Adobe software. Knowledge of college-wide technology systems and testing software. Skilled in oral, written, and interpersonal communication as applied to interactions in public relations, marketing, student recruitment and grant writing. Skilled in organizing people and events. Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals; to maintain a flexible schedule; and to travel within the county and state, and out of state as needed. Bilingual ability is a plus.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Human Resources department.

    Preferred
    Experience in Career and Technical Education at both the high school and community college levels. Experience with grants management. Experience interacting with staff, students and faculty in a community college setting. Good time management and organizational skills. A self-starter.
