Position Description:

The Department of Finance and Economics in the McCoy College of Business Administration anticipates a tenure-track opening in business law at the rank of assistant professor effective fall 2022.

Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate business law courses; conducting research leading to scholarly publications as recognized by the college in the area of business law; and providing service to the students of Texas State University, the department, the college, and the profession. All positions are subject to availability of funds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctor of Jurisprudence (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited school of law;
  • Minimum of three (3) years full-time, non-academic experience in position(s) that require a J.D.;
  • Active research agenda that demonstrates the potential for continued publication; and
  • Demonstrative record of scholarly publications commensurate with experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience teaching law at the university or law-school level;
  • Membership and participation as a member of a law school law review or moot court team;
  • Experience as a law clerk at an appellate court or federal district court;
  • An undergraduate, masters, or doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited college or university, or other relevant postgraduate degrees.
