Nature of Work

The Education Outreach Program Developer of the Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) office will provide essential program development, administrative and logistic support across CU Cancer Center’s education initiatives, with a particular focus on developing and sustaining the center’s research education pipeline programs.

This position will report directly to the Assistant Director for Education Administration

Supervision Exercised

This position will not have any supervisory responsibilities

Examples of Work Performed

  • Assisting with development and implementation of education outreach programs.  This includes assisting with writing education/training grants and program coordination
  • Tracking trainees, evaluating and documenting program performance, and making or recommending improvements when appropriate
  • Developing and Coordinating research skill-building and career development activities for high school, undergraduate, graduate, postdoctoral and junior faculty trainees of the CU Cancer Center
  • Collaborating with Program Leaders and Directors to promote participation of trainees in education and training activities
  • Other duties as assigned
Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary range for this position begins at $49,524 and is commensurate with skills and experience.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a natural science, health sciences, Public Health, Education or related field (Masters in these fields can substitute for the Bachelor degree)
Work Experience:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in education, training, or community outreach program development
  • Three (3) years’ experience in professional grants management and administrative leadership working in an academic environment (may be included within the 3 years’ experience in education, training, or community outreach program development)
Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in one of the fields listed above
  • Experience with science or grant writing: for example science publications, training or science grants, such as F or K-series NIH grants
  • Experience in managing or participating in extramurally sponsored education programs and/or training grants
  • Successfully served as key personnel on a training and/or education grants
  • Track record of quality mentoring as demonstrated by successful outcomes, graduation, prestigious award, acceptance to graduate or clinical program, publication, invitation to speak at a national conference, or awarded competitive grant
  • Experience in and commitment to efforts that promote diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Experience with tracking and program evaluation
