Educational and Experience Requirement:

Associates Degree in related field. Three years related experience or experience in a related field. Certifications may be required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position:

Performs advanced specialist duties for the Banking and Debt Management department.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs treasury duties including but not limited to processing payments as direct deposit, paper check, and wire transfer. Requests supporting documentation for transactions to ensure compliance with Sam Houston State University policies and procedures. Responds to payment-related inquiries from students, staff, faculty, and vendors. Prepares daily reporting on payment activity. Assists in developing policies and procedures. Completes travel requisitions for other Banking and Debt Management staff. Acts as purchaser for department. Inputs journal vouchers into Banner. Provides back-up to other Baking and Debt Management functions as needed. May be responsible for planning and participating in special projects. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Specifications:

Requires a general knowledge of standard office functions. Requires good knowledge of procedures and practices. Must be able to use standard office software. Must be able to apply policies and procedures and solve routine problems of a repetitive nature.
