This position is 100% grant funded as part of the Heart of MO-Regional Professional Development Center's Consolidated Contract.
This is a professional position within the Heart of Missouri RPDC. The primary purpose of this position will be to provide training to district staff and assist districts in the implementation of effective research-based activities in order to improve the academic performance and post-secondary outcomes to ensure all students, but especially students with disabilities, graduate college and career ready.
Assist educators in implementing effective, evidenced-based instructional practices.
Deliver high-quality training on evidence-based practices using DESE-approved materials.
Assist districts in implementing effective programs/processes designed to positively impact graduation and dropout rates.
Assist districts in designing college and career ready plans which ensure the effective transition of students from school to post-school activities.
Attend professional development opportunities applicable to Special Education Improvement Consultant work as requested/approved by DESE.
Other duties as assigned by the Heart of MO-RPDC Director.
Salary: $50,000 as allowed by grant funding
GGS Grade: 10

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
All applicants will be interviewed and hired based on the preferred qualifications below:
A Bachelors's Degree in Education is required. Masters Degree is preferred.
Five years of classroom special education teaching experience is required.
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate in special education is required.
