Sr. Steam Plant Mechanic, Fs Steam Plant

Regular, Full-time - MR08

Job Skills:  Excellent mechanical ability, must be proficient in welding technologies such as metal inert gas (mig), tungsten inert gas (tig), oxyacetylene torch and plasma arc cutter. Must be proficient in metal fabrication, have the ability to read blueprints, operate a forklift, use power tools and hand tools. Must have the ability to work well with others. Must possess the ability to make decisions under pressure and to communicate well, both orally and in writing. Must be trained in, and have the ability to use, proper safety equipment as required for the duties of this position, including but not limited, to the ability to wear a respirator while working. Must be trained and have the ability to work in confined spaces and work from ladders or scaffolding.  Provide technical guidance and direction to mechanics, and helpers in performing their duties. Perform other duties such as operating fork lifts, cleaning boiler etc. or as directed by supervisor.

Must have good attendance habits and be willing to work flexible schedules and overtime as required.  Must have a valid TN driver’s License.



Qualifications
Minimum Education:      High school graduate or equivalent experience.

Experience:  Mechanical knowledge and (5) Five years experience working with boilers, pumps, blowers, valves, air compressors and other steam plant related equipment. Experience using hand tools, power tools, welding and cutting equipment. Experience driving a fork lift and other heavy equipment.

Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License
