Plumbing & Heating Specialist I (2 Positions)

Regular, Full-time - 1st Shift

To assist as needed or directed in the layout, construction, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of the University of Tennessee Knoxville's plumbing, sewer, storm sewer, gas, steam infrastructure facilities, and to insure the continued safe and reliable distribution and discharge of utility pipe lines to the Campus. Also to assist, when directed, other shops and departments on campus in the performance and completion of various projects as needed to ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.



Qualifications
Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills and abilities, licenses and certifications);

High school education;

This position requires a good working knowledge of plumbing work with a minimum of three (3) years in, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and/or experience.

Valid TN Driver’s License

Applicant should have an understanding of plumbing distribution systems and equipment, controls, piping, skills in use of all equipment and tools relating to plumbing areas of work. Requires the ability to perform under extreme pressure in both a public contact and internal departmental capacity. Ability to perform duties in a highly technical and sometimes hazardous and hectic environment. Ability to solve problems and repair plumbing and piping systems and components and interact with others in an efficient and responsible manner. Read blueprints and make a material list as needed.
