Assistant Athletic Trainer
Supervises the overall medical care for student-athletes. Provides medical coverage for athletic events. Supervises Athletic Trainer Interns and student athletic trainers in the prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Responsibilities 1. -
Responsible for the overall prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and daily health carefor assigned student-athletes2. -
Responsible for maintaining up to date HIPAA compliant medical records3. -
Responsible for administrative tasks assigned by the department leadership4. -
Establishes and executes institutional policies pertaining to the care of the student-athletes5. -
Maintains frequent and effective communication with medical and athletic department staff Required Qualifications Educational Requirements
Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Athletic Training or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experienceOther Required Qualifications
State of Georgia Athletic Training Licensure
First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia driver's licenseRequired Experience
Two (2) years relevant experience in athletic training in a post-secondary level program or professional training in a related sports program Preferred Qualifications Preferred Experience
Experience in collegiate sports athletic training or rehabilitation Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIES
Able to deal with multiple tasks or projects at one time KNOWLEDGE
Familiarity with NCAA rules and compliance standards; Knowledge of standards and best practices in sports medicine; Experience with empowering and motivating students; Knowledge and experience with software related to healthcare management SKILLS
Analytical thinking and creative skills; Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills; Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite); Strong attention to detail and follow up skills; Strong customer service skills and phone etiquette Equal Employment Opportunity
