Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.:

  • Project coordination and management skills (completes assignments efficiently within established deadlines; ability to multitask; includes some event coordination)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive
  • Analytical skills (able to prepare statistical reports; calculates and monitors budgets; determines solutions while complying with established policies)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including effective business telephone skills and etiquette
  • Basic filing ability, in both electronic and traditional filing systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Access;
  • Skills with other specialized software such as Adobe Creative Cloud or website maintenance software;
  • Knowledge of university and library structure and protocol

Job Description:

The University Libraries at Texas State University seeks a proactive, professional, enthusiastic, and courteous individual for the position of Administrative Assistant III: Research & Learning Services. Reporting to the Director of Research & Learning Services, this position provides administrative support for the Library’s Research & Learning Services (RLS) division, which includes approximately 35 staff who provide assistance to academic library patrons in a variety of ways.

Job Duties:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administrative support for Research & Learning Services Director
  • Event coordination
  • Department/Unit Support for RLS divisional staff
  • Procurement
  • Student worker supervision
  • Effective use of productivity software and specialty software (includes room reservation and library instruction scheduling software)
  • Other duties as assigned
