Job Summary

The Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education student equipment manager works under the supervision of Bridgette Stewart. This position will be responsible for class set-up and break down on a daily basis (including nets and other facility needs) for PWLA, PHED, CMWL, and SPMG classes. This position is responsible for all sport and fitness equipment maintenance, inventory, clean-up, small repair tasks, and general office duties. This position will be responsible for daily maintenance and cleanup of the fitness lab, aerobics room, and storage cages in the Coliseum. This position will also assist students with scheduling appointments and provide information on other academic support programs offered for student success.

Student Assistant positions include standard, routine duties which require minimal prior training or experience. Most often, Student Assistant positions work with other students and are frequently supervised.

Required Qualifications

Must be a current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours and maintaining at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average unless otherwise noted/indicated by the hiring department.

Superior customer service skills; positive and friendly attitude.

Willingness to work cooperatively with others.

Ability to handle confidential information with care and ability to prioritize duties.

Basic computer skills and knowledge, attentiveness to details, and good organizational skills and initiatives.

Ability to lift and carry mail. Take stairs and non-stop work for two-plus hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Excellent verbal communication skills

Ability to multi-task and a willingness to learn
