LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Flexibility to work evenings and weekends to meet needs of students.

MINIMUM STARTING SALARY*: $78,069 per year

*Current benefit eligible employees will be placed within the pay range based on their current rate/range.

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage the day-to-day operations of the Security Department (district wide). Manage emergency situations involving the NWTC community. Provide leadership for security services in alignment with the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of NWTC. Develop and provide staff training with a goal to reduce the overall security risk of NWTC. Serve in the capacity of the Clery Compliance Officer for the NWTC District.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

  • Provide leadership to Security staff through the development of policies, procedures, and programs relating to security, to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Administer and oversee district wide electronic systems to include but not limited to door access, security cameras, fire system, mass notification, and electronic incident reporting.
  • Maintain preventative patrol and respond to security requests as needed.
  • Recommend human resource actions including hiring, discipline, and terminations. Determine staffing levels and complete performance reviews. Communicate performance expectations and provide positive and constructive feedback.
  • Provide input to the development of the department budget. Monitor revenues and expenses to ensure operation within budget.
  • Serve as the chairperson of the Security Advisory team and participate on the Campus Assessment, Response, and Education (CARE) and Title IX teams.
  • Serve as a liaison to district wide public safety agencies (Police, Fire, EMS, etc.) and coordinate security measures with appropriate personnel.
  • Manage the development of the vision and direction for the department. Develop action plan items consistent with the goals and objectives of the department and that support student success.
  • Work with the NWTC Risk Management & Safety teams and other internal committees to review and develop policies and procedures.
  • Emergency management of predicted and unexpected critical events district wide. Coordinate the activities, including tabletop exercises of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) when the EOC is activated.
  • Provide campus security, threat assessment, active shooter response and critical incident response teams facilitation, and training as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of applicable law enforcement experience, preferably in a sworn position within the last 10 years. Experience in supervisory role preferred.

**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.

Computer Skills

Basic Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Certificates & Licenses

CPR/AED certification, Blood Bourne Pathogen training or obtainment of certification and training within 6 months of employment.

Must hold a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the District’s standard insurance policy terms.
