Job responsibilities include:Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
-On-site and virtual support through training and technical assistance to afterschool or summer camp programs throughout South Carolina.
-Coordination of special initiatives within afterschool or summer camp programs.
-Management of assigned referrals, including correspondence and timely reporting of data collected.
-Assistance in the development and dissemination of training materials, including the development of online training modules and tutorials.
-Participation in public awareness and outreach activities, including development and dissemination of informational resources and brochures, presentations at regional and state conferences
-Development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with others involved in supporting the improvement of afterschool and summer camp programs for the benefit of school aged children.
Master’s degree and 2 years training and development experience, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years training and development experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree and 3 years of experience in Elementary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field; or bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience Elementary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with experience supporting inclusion in K-5 educational settings and to those with experience supporting social, emotional, and behavioral needs in grades K-5.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Interested applicants are required to be a Certified Trainer and Certified Technical Assistance Provider through SC Endeavors or have the ability to procure certifications within 3 months of employment. A successful applicant will be experienced in the provision of training to child care providers in topics that address special education methods, curricula, developmental screening and assessment, and early intervention procedures. The applicant should have knowledge of SC Child Care licensing requirements and ABC standards and awareness of community services for children with developmental delays/disabilities. Knowledge and experience in the use of tools to develop online training/courses/tutorials is preferred. Safety Sensitive or Security Sensitive:
Successful applicants will have excellent written and oral communication skills, computer skills that include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) and web-based software applications, the ability to lift 50 lbs., own and operate a reliable vehicle to conduct on-site visits to early childhood programs, and hold a valid SC Driver’s License with a clean 10-year driving record.
