The Graduate Student Worker will assist in the daily activities and duties of the office as well as acting as a spokesperson for the department. You are the first point of contact in the office and assist students, employers and the staff with resume help, job postings, scheduling of appointments, event planning, and engagement. The Graduate Student Worker also assists in promoting the Career & Alumni Connections through word of mouth and engagement in programs and activities.*The position commitment is from August 2021 - May 2022, and requires the availability to work Monday - Friday from 9 am - 1 pm or 1 pm - 5 pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Communicate with student body effectively and efficientlySpeak to employers on daily basis to schedule meetings and assist in job postingsAnswer phone calls made to the Career & Alumni Connections office on issues, scheduling appointments, resume help, program information, and any other situations that may occurMonitor emails sent to main Career Connections inboxAssist in the execution of events (setup, promotion, attendance)Facilitate relationships with studentsProvide positive and effective suggestions and feedback to students in regards to career, internships, and resources provided through the Career & Alumni Connections officeAssist Career & Alumni Connections staff with other projects or tasks
