Requirements

Assistant Director of Facilities and & Operations, Hoya Athletics - Georgetown University

The Assistant Director of Facilities & Operations assists in the oversight of the management and operation of all aspects of Georgetown University's indoor and outdoor athletic events and operations for 29 varsity teams - for example, facility preparation for practices, competitions, sports camps and clinics. They also assist in the management of all University and external events that are hosted in athletics facilities and general event management. Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director for Events & Operations, the Assistant Director has duties that include but are not limited to:

Event Operations

Coordinate efforts with coaches, equipment room, sports promotions, security and parking (when necessary), Hoyas Unlimited (alumni events), University administrators and external entities to prepare for game day needs and other specifics involving events held in Athletics facilities, including game operations and serving as Event Manager at selected events

Set Up and Take Down

Insure competition-site is set up and cleaned up in an appropriate manner and timely fashion and in accordance with all applicable conference and NCAA regulations

Administrative Tasks

Perform administrative duties regarding notification to visiting teams of Georgetown University policies and procedures, including the sending of visitor guides

Promotions & Event Operations

Assist in the execution of in-game promotional activities and in managing sport-specific marketing plans

Compliance

Ensure all events and operations are conducted in accordance with NCAA, BIG EAST or applicable conference, and University rules and regulations

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 3 years of Division I Intercollegiate Athletics or professional athletics event and operations experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate an ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record and insurability
  • Availability and willingness to work weekends and evenings
