Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:Full-time position to begin January 2022.
Teach undergraduate/graduate professional education courses for the College of Education and Human Services on-campus and online; assist with statewide initiatives, including grant activities in Family & Consumer Sciences or Career and Technical Education field. Responsibilities will also include advising undergraduate students, collaborating with university departments and the community, supervising students in field placements, teacher candidates, and engaging in scholarly activities.
Masters in Family and Consumer Sciences required. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in family and consumer sciences or related field preferred. ABD with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered. Consideration will also be given to applicants with a Master’s Degree and teaching experience in Family Consumer Sciences.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:Public school teaching experience in Family Consumer Sciences or career and technical education is required. Three years of public school teaching experience in FCS classroom preferred.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:Experience teaching middle and/or high school, and program design/management of family & consumer sciences preparation. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and school-based personnel. Experience in teaching blended or online classes as well as face-to-face classes. A commitment to working in an interdisciplinary teaching and learning environment. Background in and willingness to assume a leadership role at the local, state, and/or national/international levels. Record of seeking external funding and participating in research and school-based projects.
