Normal Work Schedule: 8:00am to 4:45pm;Varies depending on events scheduled at BCC and out-of-town after hours and on weekends. Some travel is required.

Job Summary: The Program Coordinator, CCS is responsible for supporting the overall coordination and development of a program(s). Assists with program design, management, and implementation. Promotes the program and serves as liaison between the program and contacts internal and external to the University.

Additional Department Summary: Identifies and coordinates student and/or administrative support services for various programs offered by CCS. Serves as a liaison between CCS and partners such as Boards of Directors, Constituent groups, Off-site Facilities, and the State of Alabama Departments in the coordination of membership, courses, committee support, and assessment services. Serves as a member of the division's Program Management Team to coordinate administrative and management services for existing and newly developed programs offered through Corporate Engagement. Serves as UA Liaison with program constituent groups and conduct recruitment speeches with appropriate audiences. This position involves a high degree of complexity and creative thinking skills. The incumbent is charged with coordinating and implementing all services required for the successful administration of programs. The duties associated with this position require the ability to analyze information and make critical decisions. Incumbent must have the ability to cultivate mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external constituents. Incumbent must possess absolute knowledge of a wide spectrum of institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of event planning, tourism, hospitality, customer relations, or project management experience; OR High School Diploma and six (6) years of event planning, tourism, hospitality, customer relations, or project management experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be able to work occasional weekend, evenings and holidays. Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge: Must possess strong data base management skills and the ability to develop quantitative and qualitative data measurement instruments. General financial accounting skills; the ability to review and analyze basic financial reports Most possess very strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Excellent oral and written communication skills, basic desktop computing skills (e.g. windows, Excel, etc.), and general knowledge of institutional services such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Purchasing. Ability to work with different cultures and ages of people, general supervisory experience. Demonstrated knowledge of windows-driven software. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess strong data base management and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications: A knowledge of a wide spectrum of University of Alabama and College of Continuing Studies institutional and departmental policies and procedures. Strong data base management and analytical skills. General financial accounting knowledge. Bachelor's degree in communications, education, business, liberal arts, or related subject is preferred.
