Job Summary: The Senior Director of Executive Education provides strategic guidance, oversight, and coordination for all Executive Education initiatives across the assigned college.

Additional Department Summary: The Senior Director of Executive Education in the Culverhouse College of Business (CCB) is envisioned to be a combination of strategic planning, strategic marketing, and dynamic program portfolio development. The Senior Director reports to the College Dean and provides strategic guidance, oversight, and coordination for all Executive Education initiatives across the College. The Senior Director will work to establish Executive Education as a profit center in CCB, in keeping with the strategic priorities of the college. CCB will benefit from revenues generated from custom programs for corporate clients and from noncredit courses/certificate programs.

The Senior Director collaborates with the Dean, Senior Director of Development, Executive Director of External Relations, Director of Marketing & Communications, and other relevant constituencies to develop an overall Executive Education strategic plan for the College consistent with the mission and strategic plan of the College and University. The Senior Director has full oversight in planning, marketing, and engagement with CCB leadership, faculty, corporate partners, and alumni in regard to all Executive Education activities.

The Senior Director supervises and manages those parties participating in Executive Education activities in the college. The Senior Director conducts revenue, cash flow, and financial planning and manages the budget for CCB Executive Education.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and five (5) years of student services, career services, employer development, business development, or sales experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent strategic thinking and planning skills, financial management, communication, and marketing skills that are necessary to create, plan, coordinate, and implement a diverse portfolio of Executive Education programs with department heads, faculty, staff, alumni, corporations, and UA administrators. Knowledge of the Graduate or Executive/Professional Education market/industry. The ability to gain acceptance by all age groups of people in the corporate, alumni, and College/University communities. A high energy level and ability to create and initiate new projects and programs, then manage implementation and coordination of such. The ability to create, plan, and oversee execution of a dynamic and diverse portfolio of Executive Education programs is required. Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across a complex organization. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with varying levels of College, University, alumni, corporate, and community environments. Proven track record of problem-solving and strategic planning. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Financial and budget management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in marketing, advertising/public relations, communications, business, or a related field. Five (5) years of experience in business development and strategic partnership development. Five (5) years of experience in strategy, marketing, budget responsibilities, relationship management, and a proven track record of calling on constituents.
