Job Summary: The Athletic Academic Certification Specialist is responsible for the coordination of all assignments associated with Athletic Academic Certification for all NCAA Division I student athletes and managers in all varsity sports, as well as, certification of 31 club sports, Capstone Men and Women, Cheerleaders, Big AL mascots and the University Dance Team.

Additional Department Summary: This position is responsible for analyzing and updating athletic data contained in the Banner Student Information System, NCAA Compliance Assistant System, and the ARGOS Athletics Dashboard. Monitors daily reporting related to student-athlete eligibility issues and makes time-critical decisions to ensure student-athletes remain in compliance with academic eligibility rules. Collaborates with administrators and staff of the Athletic Compliance Office and the Athletic Student Services Office to provide data and analysis of student-athletes to ensure current and future eligibility. Collaborates with designated college personnel, academic advisors, and athletic advisors to determine whether student-athlete satisfactory academic progress standards are being met. Collects data for submission of NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and the Academic Progress Rate (APR) reports. Facilitates certification of all club sports, Capstone Men and Women, Cheerleaders and Mascots. Maintains knowledge of institutional, SEC, and NCAA rules as they pertain to initial, transfer, and continuing eligibility to participate in inter-collegiate athletics.

Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with one (1) year of work experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Communication and problem solving skills. Proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers and computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite or other equivalent office application software. Exceptional interpersonal skills. The ability to perform work independently and set and achieve priorities.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of the Ellucian Banner Student Information System. Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
