Job Description Summary
Job Summary
Athletic Facility and Operations Assistant is a temporary position that assists the Athletic Operations department the position is divided into two parts, building supervision and event management. The position reports to the Assistant Director of Operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Building Supervision
  • Supervise building operations in Tse-Sports Center, Ringe and Palestra including, but not limited to: member and student access; daily supervision of practices, events, and rentals; setup and break down of events and rentals; towel service; Fusion access,
  • Ensure compliance with daily building schedule provided by the Assistant Director of Athletic Operations
  • Perform daily maintenance inspections and facility walks as assigned to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned
  • Perform conference room and rental set-up and breakdown as assigned.
  • Work with recreation staff to ensure proper supervision of intramural/sport club programming.
  • Work with Allied Barton security staff and Director to enforce proper building policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine and end of the night security checks on all DRIA facilities to ensure doors and gates are locked; lights are turned off, etc.
    Event Management
  • Work with Operations Staff, Facilities Services, Housekeeping, and contracted services for all athletic venues and events.
  • Serve as Secondary Event Manager for assigned events
  • Perform Event setup and breakdown as assigned
  • Work with large work study staff to successfully complete events and small projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's or master's candidate in Sport Management, Recreation, Education, or related field preferred. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with recreation and intercollegiate athletic department activities, facility operations, and event management.
  • Must be a good communicator, organized, and self motivated to perform tasks on your own
  • Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Will work around Class Schedule
