This individual will support students' academic success through coordinating accommodation support for the office of Student Accessibility Services. Primary responsibilities include managing and proctoring exam accommodations for students with disabilities; greeting, assessing needs, and following up with students; and database/file management. Additional responsibilities include hiring and coordinating support for students with visual and hearing impairments; research about accommodations, outreach to varied agencies to locate support; and accessibility event planning.Your Key Responsibilities:

- Independently coordinate all aspects of exam arrangements and proctoring for students with disabilities (email arrangements with student and faculty, reserving space, monitoring, technology, setting boundaries, delivery of exams)
- Liaise with faculty around specific course accommodation needs pertaining to exams (initiate contact, communicate procedures, receive and organize content, manage technology, provide professional advice as needed)
- Communicate complex information to students in a manner appropriate to the context: identify appropriate options and facilitate their assessment; explain procedures so they can self-advocate
- Identify and hire students to serve as readers during exams or describers to serve as the eyes of students with visual impairments.
- Support the front desk of SAS (Greet students, schedule meetings, and enter notes into databases)
- Monitor email for requests for support from students, parents, faculty and staff (respond to questions; determine priority level, write case notes, and process accordingly)
- Research information necessary for the offices' search for innovative solutions to new accommodation requests regarding both individual student needs and potential resources (technology, support agencies, local/global resources and restrictions, transportation routes and costs, animal restrictions, etc)
- Prepare data for reports and archiving as needed.
Qualifications---Your Skills and Experience:
- Independently identify, hire, and coordinate support for students with visual and hearing impairments, including ASL interpreters, CART providers, or cued language transliterators (CLTs). Pay invoices for these outside vendors
- Liaise with faculty and staff across campus
- Counsel students on campus resources and provide referrals, as needed
- Represent SAS and Care and Support at events, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience
- Prior experience (2-4 years) working with students with disabilities in academic support, program coordination, or another context
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with keen attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and clear and precise oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently to plan own work and collaboratively to support team goals
- Ability to work with a diverse population to create sentiments of belonging.
- Ability to convey complex information in an understandable way to varied audiences
- Strong technology skills
- An equivalent combination of experiences will be considered
- Professional experience within a higher education environment
- Prior management experience

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36.25
Hiring Range: $51,100.00 - $53,600.00
