The Department of Social Work at Western Carolina University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Social Work. The position is a nine-month fixed term appointment with an anticipated begin work date of January 2022. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until a candidate has been selected.
Responsibilities include teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, participating in service to department, college and university, student advising, and possibly supervising field students. Another expectation for this position is to engage in learning opportunities regarding online teaching.
Some teaching responsibilities may be at off-site locations and/or during evening hours. Position is primarily located on the main WCU Cullowhee, NC campus.

Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a commitment to public engagement through their teaching, service, and scholarship.Minimum Qualifications:
A Master’s Degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work (CSWE)- Preferred Qualifications:
accredited university and 3 years of demonstrated social work practice experience.
