The Accessibility Coordinator, under general supervision, develops, implements, supports, and maintains the University’s Electronic and Information Resources (EIR) accessibility rules and procedures, and serves as the central point of contact for EIR accessibility issues and solutions.
-Arranges and leads Texas Administrative Codes (TAC) Accessibility Workgroup meetings to develop, implement, support, publish, and maintain the University’s EIR accessibility rules and procedures.
-Coordinates EIR accessibility compliance testing and reporting, and develops or recommends accessibility training.
-Consults with administrators and EIR procurement staff members to ensure that accessibility requirements are incorporated into EIR procurement processes.
-Plans, monitors, and coordinates EIR accessibility activities. Develops EIR accessibility strategies and implementations plans.
-Provides leadership and guidance, and acts as a liaison to functional areas where EIR is developed or procured. Recommends best practices of EIR accessibility for new and existing technologies, including software, hardware, web-based applications, and documents.
-Builds support for EIR accessibility among faculty, staff, and stakeholders through presentations, training facilitation, and consultation on accessibility related topics.
Education and Experience:
-High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Two years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of Federal and State regulations related to the accessibility of electronic and information resources.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
