Nature of WorkThe Department of Environmental and Occupational Health has an opening for a part-time (0.5 FTE) Senior PRA with an interest in environmental health, environmental epidemiology, and community-based research. The Senior PRA will be responsible for assisting the study team for federally funded environmental epidemiology studies and related research conducted on PFAS exposure and health effects. The incumbent will be responsible for working with investigators on IRB compliance and the study protocol, onboarding and training new employees, assisting with data and project management, facilitating communication among team members and with the funding agency, evaluating data quality, and assisting with data analysis and manuscript preparation. Candidates should be highly motivated, have strong communication and problem-solving skills and good writing skills.

Periodically (with notice), the incumbent needs to be available to work on evenings and/or weekends.

The incumbent will be supervised by John Adgate, PhD, MSPH, Professor, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health. 






  • Assist with the development and submission of IRB documents
  • Keep detailed records and follow research protocols
  • Develop and update study protocols and procedure manuals
  • Assist with employee hiring, onboarding, and training processes and procedures
  • Facilitate communications among team members, with the funding agency and with other study partners (i.e., CDPHE, other sites)
  • Oversee study data management and evaluation of data quality, under the direction of study team leaders
  • Contribute to manuscript preparation, including literature reviews, preparation of tables and figures and data analysis
  • Participate in regular trainings to maintain skills
  • Comply with all guidelines for ethical conduct of research
  • Maintain good relationships with study participants and members of the research team
  • Other research-related duties as assigned


This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to manage a variety of projects effectively. Our preferred candidate will be a self-starting, enthusiastic team player with strong analytic skills.

Salary and BenefitsThe annual salary / salary range for this position has been established at $24,500 to $29,500 for 0.5 FTE.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, rank, internal equity, experience, education, and area of expertise. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Required Qualifications

    Master’s degree in Public Health, Environmental and Occupational Health or related fieldExperience managing data and creating descriptive analyses and reports Experience using REDCAP for data entry and/or management
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    Knowledge of PFAS exposure and health effects literatureExperience with preparing IRB submissions
