Responsibilities

The Mechanical Trades Technician will oversee the preventative maintenance for the HVAC systems on campus, and associate piping, valves, ductwork, compressors, and other raelated equipment. Theis position will install and maintain valves, piping, plumbing, fixtures, water and sewer lines, and perform a variety of minor building construction trades. Additional responsibilities include purchase requests and inventory, painting, drywall, carpentry, and other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years experience in same.

(Note:Technical or vocational degree in appropriate mechanical trade area may substitute for experience.)

Ability to meet the physical demands of this position to include good manual dexterity, perform frequent and repeated movements (bending, stooping, twisting, pushing and reaching) and work in all weather conditions.

Knowledge of the practices and the ability to perform skilled carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or other related trades work.

Knowledge of general maintenance principles, practices, and techniques.

Skill in estimating the costs of materials and equipment.

Skill in safely operating various types of motorized vehicles including, but not limited to tractors, forklifts, and golf carts.

A valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain.

Anticipated Salary Range

The expected salary is between $25,000 - 31,000 annually, but the salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Schedule

The schedule will be Monday - Friday, 2:00PM to 10:30PM.
