Department Summary:

HSC Health is the academic clinical practice plan for the Health Science Center. Focused on primary care and improving health outcomes to all to build a healthier community, HSC Health has 13 unique clinics on the HSC campus as well as an off-site obstetrics and genecology location in medical district of Fort Worth. In each clinic, an interprofessional team works collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, and nurses work together as well as intentionally integrate health care students, residents, and fellows into patient care and commit to train providers of the future within the clinical practice.

Position Overview:

The HSC Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a LVN to join our team. The LVN will be responsible for ensuring all patient care duties are completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner in accordance with standards of care, TJC, and University policies.

This position is located in Fort Worth at the UNT Health Science Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and two (2) years of related experience. A valid Texas LVN License and a current CPR (BLS) certificate are required.

M-F, 8-5pm

Triage phone calls and obtain medication related questions to answer in coordination with the providers.

o:

Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action

o:

Answer patients’ calls and determine how to assist them

o:

Measure and record patients’ vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration.

o:

Provide basic patient care or treatments ad directed by providers

o:

Work as part of a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and modify care, and implement interventions.

o:

Provide guidance and training to medical assistants.

o:

Evaluate nursing intervention outcomes, conferring with other healthcare team members as necessary.

Assemble and use medical equipment.
