Provide academic and career information to current and prospective undergraduate Business students in the PaCE (Pathway to Campus Enrollment) program interested in degrees or minors offered by the Heavener School of Business (HSB). This includes the following topic areas: course schedules, program requirements, academic and professional four-year plans, tracking, probation, career advising, study skills, minors, honors thesis, research opportunities, combined degree programs, resume development, internships, networking, choosing a major, study abroad, and the petitions process. Student contact will be divided between Walk-In/Express advising and individual (30 minute) appointments.
Conducts individualized onboarding to assist students with identification of long-term goals and plans; develops graduation plan based on student experience, incoming credits, current life factors, and overall goals; track progress towards these goals.
Supports student transitions with multiple, deliberate interventions in the first semester of enrollment; builds rapport with assigned student case load; provides resources to help students build connections to college and campus entities to help students foster student success practices and campus belonging.

Provide academic and career guidance to students indirectly via administrative projects and programming specific to the PaCE population. These functions include:
•Assist and coordinate new student programs, namely, Preview and Transfer Preview for PaCE students. Occasionally held on weekends.
•Attend UF Admissions recruiting functions targeting PaCE students as the HSB’s representative. Occasionally held on evenings or weekends.
•Provide assistance in College advising activities such as Drop/Add, Advance Registration, Registration, admission activities, Grades day or any other activity which makes for a smooth running office.
•Represent the College and HSB in various university committees and meetings, including consistent attendance at UFO advising meetings and any campus-wide PaCE meetings.
•Ensure documentation on PaCE programming within the HSB, including the availability of degrees and college minors, is accurate. This includes the UF Undergraduate Catalog, degree audits, Heavener handouts and Heavener website.

•Assist in the coordination of the transition process for all HSB PaCE students each term. This involves tracking the students, proactive communication about deadlines and timing, identifying at-risk students, managing outreach, and processing the transitions as appropriate.
•Coordinate and host chat sessions (or similar alternative) for PaCE students to connect to HSB advising resources as well as other PaCE students. Manage communications with HSB PaCE students.
•Leverages college and UF Online data and dashboards to compile and analyze course success, persistence and retention of assigned PaCE students; partners within the department, college and UF Online on strategies and interventions designed to increase KPI’s related to student progression towards transition to campus; Prepare reports on student progress and program assessment.
•May act as an Advisor for PaCE business student organization. Attend meetings which may be held in evenings.
•Identify PaCE students whose academic or extracurricular activities make them eligible for College, University, or national scholarships, awards, honors and recognition.
•Act as a liaison with other colleges/departments, the counseling center, student government, or outside agencies to provide academic and career advice and to assist in providing for the students’ overall well-being.
•Review degree audits for students and make necessary adjustments and/or corrections regarding substituted courses, requirement waivers, courses included in grade point average, and catalog year. In addition, make the necessary changes when there are curricular changes to the degree programs.
•Participate actively in weekly meetings with the Academic & Career Advising team to discuss and review policies, develop best practices, and share outcomes assessments.
•Teach Warrington Welcome courses for first year PaCE UF, Heavener School of Business students.

Other duties as assigned by the Director for Academic & Career Advising, Associate Director of the HSB, or the Assistant Dean of the HSB.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 - $55,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in education, counseling, or an academic field directly related to the advisor’s area of responsibility and one year of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or an academic field directly related to the advisor’s area of responsibility and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 3 years full-time work experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience.
