Security Guard II
Specific duties include:Greet and welcome guests to the museum.Provide professional and positive interaction with all visitors and staff of the museum.Provide excellent customer service and general and directional information to guests.Perform routine patrol of designated areas.Conduct opening and closing procedures of the museum.Coordinate and prepare paperwork that facilitates the daily activities of the security staff.Provide timely and accurate information to the Security Supervisor and Director of Finance and Operations on unusual conditions or situations within the Museum.Investigate incidents resulting in loss or damage to art or museum facilities, provide and obtain written and oral reports about security incidents.Assist with the development, implementation, and personnel training of security plans and procedures for the protection of art on the premises.Inspect packages and monitor building access to ensure that access is granted to those authorized.Work with the Museum Rentals team to assist with setup and breakdown of equipment, chairs, and tables for museum events.Provide security escorts, as assigned, for maintenance or other activities throughout the museum.Work collaboratively with University of Florida Police Department, UF Facility Services, vendors, and all UF departments across campus.Perform on-call responsibilities as assigned.
$15.45 per hour
Minimum Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Preferred Qualifications:Strong customer service skills and experience.Previous experience in security.While projecting a positive attitude, work as part of a team as well as independently.Experience working and communicating with individuals of diverse backgrounds.Ability to recognize dangerous or potentially dangerous situations, respond calmly and determine proper course of action.Experience with de-escalation techniques.Ability to apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to security programs.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of basic first aid, or First Aid/AED certification.
