The Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, invites applications for the full-time position of Lecturer of Italian to begin August 2021 in the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies.

The successful candidate will teach elementary and intermediate Italian language courses, as well as introductory courses in Intercultural Studies that fulfill general education requirements in the humanities. The lecturer will collaborate with the coordinator of the Italian program on the creation and modification of syllabi and organization of extracurricular activities and must be able to engage productively with faculty in a multi-language department to promote a culture that values foreign language learning and supports Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Candidates must have at least a Master’s Degree in Italian, Italian Studies, or a closely related field, possess near-native fluency in Italian and English, and demonstrate teaching excellence in undergraduate instruction. Candidates with doctoral degrees are encouraged to apply.
