The Theatre Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2022. We seek candidates to teach Set Design, Scene Painting, and Props Design and Construction (with possible additional design courses based on the candidate’s expertise), as well as design two department productions as part of their teaching load. The successful candidate must have a Master’s Degree, professional experience, experience in teaching in higher education, and the ability to meet production deadlines.

The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year (one scenic design course, an additional design course, and the scenic design for two department productions). After the first year, the teaching load is five courses. The position requires institutional service including academic advising of undergraduate students after the first year.
