Job Duties :

This position will add an operational support staff member who will give the men’s basketball student athletes another mentor/advocate who will directly impact the students’ educational and learning experiences outside the classroom. The position will work with and direct players in handling all problems dealing with financial aid and scholarship money, work with and direct incoming players on all PiratePort, ECU admissions processes, and scholarship responsibilities, monitor payment being made to the leasing office campus by athletes, provide guidance to student-athletes on information needed for daily student well-being, provide information on game tickets procedures to families, entertain recruits and families during men’s basketball home games, handle parent questions on scholarship student-athletes and walk-ons with the paperwork with ECU and NCAA Eligibility Center, coordinate travel for players to student health or medical center for medical needs. Perform other duties as assigned by head coach.

This position will build quality relationships and work collaboratively and professionally with Pirate Club, athletics, and University staff, students, business vendors and all donors and stakeholders. This position will also abide by all written policies and procedures of ECU, the Department of Athletics, The Educational Foundation (Pirate Club), the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and all applicable conferences or associations.

Minimum Education/Experience :

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution is required; experience working in an operational administration position in athletics is also required.

Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.

License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :
