The Instructional Designer is responsible for consulting with faculty as they develop courses to facilitate faculty understanding and expectations related to identified best practices and course design and development.Reports To:
Director of the Center of Learning and TeachingWhat position(s) reports to this position?:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education.
Higher education teaching experience.Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge and work experience with instructional technology delivery systems
Provide assistance and instruction to faculty in the design and development of hybrid, online, and on campus courses using the College’s LMS and instructional strategies and technologies to increase student learning and engagement.
Perform aspects of the LMS administrator function in order to troubleshoot and diagnose problems for resolution with the College’s LMS features and functions ot support faculty and students.
Create, lead, and conduct faculty training sessions in the use of the College’s LMS, design, instructional strategies, and technologies.
Conduct workshops, demonstrations, or other training sessions for faculty.
Create information for the CLT and online student resources web site and ensure information is accurate.
Coordinate and oversee Section 508 compliance as it relates to instructional materials.Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Provide instruction and assistance to faculty in the design and development of hybrid, online and on campus courses using the College’s LMS and instructional strategies and technologies to increase student learning and engagement.
Respond & resolve technical issues with the LMS or instructional technologies; this may include consulting with IITS representatives.
Create, lead and conduct professional faculty development in the use of the College’s LMS, design, instructional strategies and technologies.
Perform LMS Site Administrator functions to create and add/edit courses and users.
Create documentation and instructions to assist faculty.
Coordinate and oversee Section 508 compliance as it relates to instructional materials.
Create information for the CLT web site and ensure that information is accurate.
Increase personal knowledge by conducting research from current published research studies related to instruction, student learning, and student engagement.
Engage in professional development; attend workshops, and conferences to keep current with research-based best practices.
Advise and support the Director of the Center of Learning & Teaching in accomplishing institutional and departmental goals.
Maintain relationships with all departments for effective and efficient operation.
