Position Summary

Under supervision of the President performs liaison and staff work related to a variety of administrative projects engaging with the community. Exercises mature judgment in meeting a variety of work issues involving internal and external College and interdepartmental relations. This position plans, researches, organizes, makes presentations and implements various programs and initiatives supported by the College's strategic plan. This is a temporary one-year assignment working full-time and is benefit eligible.

  • Acts as project manager on special projects assigned by the President.
  • Conducts Community presentations, perspective and current business partnership presentations, and other interpersonal engagement opportunities with the goal of making a lasting positive impression.
  • Schedules presentations across Coconino County.
  • Develops and supports positive relationships with community constituents and area media.
  • Actively promotes the College and informs students, faculty, staff, and community through public outreach, as well as actively listens to students, faculty, staff, and community comments to guide current and future information needs.
  • Coordinates and facilitates public outreach on key College issues including public information efforts.
  • Coordinates surveys and petitions including supervising part-time employees when needed.
  • Answers a variety of correspondence and questions, in person and by telephone. Makes phone calls, takes messages, and ensures correspondence in response to information received.
  • Maintains calendar for all aspects of projects and ensures all deadlines are met.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Manager of PR and Marketing and in alignment with the College’s Strategic Marketing Plan:
  • Prepares all marketing and related outreach materials.
  • Creates and champions compelling messages for use in all situations that represent the college, students, and staff in the best way possible.
  • Designs marketing and outreach campaign for community outreach and develops strategy utilizing key data elements.
  • Performs administrative function by researching and preparing reports and presentations.
  • Works collaboratively with all areas of the College to engage the community.
  • Statewide travel is required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to present information to the public in an interesting and professional manner.
  • Ability to do original research and make sound administrative analysis relating to policy and management issues.
  • Ability to meet and deal tactfully and effectively with administrative officers, legislators, other elected officials, the public in general and the news media.
  • Ability to represent the College in a mature and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a collegial manner with all College constituents and external groups.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations across Coconino County.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in either Spanish or Navajo a plus.

  • Minimum Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Communications, Education, Public Administration, Political Science, or any related field. Three years directly related experience, or any combination of education, experience and training. Any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be considered.

    Master’s degree. Experience in a postsecondary educational institution preferably a community college.
