Responsibilities and Duties
The Communications Specialist will oversee the implementation of the StarTUp and Continuing and Professional Studies social media strategies and the associated social platforms. This includes drafting and scheduling of organic posts, providing content and feedback on targeting for paid social campaign opportunities, recommending graphic needs, monitoring analytics, and researching new trends in social media. Platforms include, but are not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Google Plus, and LinkedIn. Develops new ideas and content for the StarTUp and Continuing and Professional Studies web pages, blogs, videos, collateral, and the TU newsroom. Reviews existing web-based content regularly and edits as needed. Reviews, edits, and uploads blog posts for style and voice. Ensures blog uploads include strong photography/graphics and appropriate search engine optimization terms.
Supports marketing efforts for the StarTUp and Continuing and Professional Studies which includes, but is not limited to research and identification of new target audiences and developing new event and outreach concepts. Develops email marketing campaign content for the StarTUp and Continuing and Professional Studies. These can be standalone communications, or series oriented to promote initiatives. Many email communications are reoccurring and require regular revisions to create audience interest. Maintains messaging and graphical standards for the StarTUp building including, but not limited to signage, promotional items, and collateral. Analyzes monthly reports including data from multiple social media accounts, google analytics, and salesforce. Collaborates on recommendations based on the results of monthly reports and ensures recommendations are carried out. Completes special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in marketing and/or communication or relevant field.Must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in marketing and communications, preferably digital marketing and communications.Must prove knowledge of email marketing best practices and social media use, and editorial style.Multi-tasking, detail-oriented, team player, flexible, ability to prioritize, ability to communicate well via email and in person, able to make decisions independently.
