This position will be responsible for assisting in the overall success of and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Athletic Dining Hall for Mizzou Athletics by providing assistance in the development and execution of strategies to deliver a high quality and nutritionally appropriate dining experience and excellent customer service to approximately 550 current student-athletes as well as staff, visiting coaches and recruits for Mizzou athletics 20 Division I sport teams.
Responsible for achieving operational and financial goals and ensuring safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
Plans and manages day-to-day activities of food preparations and service functions ensuring an efficient and economical operation. Addresses performance in relation to established goals and recommends program enhancements, provides leadership to department sustainability efforts, team accomplishments and Mizzou Athletics' vision to staff, customers and student-athletes.
Establishes positive working relationships with staff and customers; develops an effective and efficient work team and mini-teams that work together and with others to accomplish the set goals and objectives and follow established department and university policies. Manages production team of both full and part-time employees, supervises safe operations and models teamwork and excellent customer service.
Assists in developing/coordinating training and development programs and opportunities for assigned staff.
Implements procedures to meet all health, sanitation, fire and safety standards including the safe storage, handling and transportation of food and supplies in order to comply with all federal, state, local and university standards and regulations.
Assist with daily operations; inspect, prep, test and evaluate food taste, ingredients, quality and appearance; conduct training and development programs for assigned personnel. Work directly with the Executive Chef and performance nutrition staff to develop appropriate menus.
Assist and may coordinate the preparation and delivery of food services for all special functions, camps and game day activities maintaining an effective quality assurance program.
Assist with and/or directs the development of creative recipes, menus and specials events that meet customer and concept needs.
Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $47,476 - $73,374
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
GGS Grade: 9E

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
ServeSafe certification or equivalent state certification preferred. Culinary degree or certification preferred.
