Requirements

Research Associate V, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center - Georgetown University Medical Center

Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC), part of Georgetown University Medical Center, seeks to prevent, treat and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis, “care for the whole person.”

The Research Associate V assists in data generation which affects the productivity of ongoing federally funded research projects in the Yi Lab, as well as the opportunity to acquire further external funding. Engaged in a number of projects, they complete a host of tasks and responsibilities that are integral to the everyday running of the lab. Reporting to the PI, the Research Associate V has duties that include but are not limited to:

Lab Research
  • Design and perform advanced laboratory research activities
  • Analyze, interpret and graph research results
  • Develop and troubleshoot new research protocols
  • Write scientific papers


Training and Assistance
  • Train new lab members on basic techniques
  • Assist PI on grant preparations


  • Qualifications
  • PhD - preferably in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science and/or related field
  • Wet lab experience
  • Strong work ethics
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team, communicate effectively, and acquire new skills when needed
