Position Description:
The UCLA Mildred E. Mathias Botanical Garden seeks a marketing specialist to provide communication, marketing and administrative support for venue rentals, public outreach and the Herbarium. This position will be supervised by the Manager of Public Outreach and Education. This is a part time (30 hours per week) position and may require individual to work on the weekends and evenings.

Incumbent is to develop marketing strategies and plans for the Botanical Garden and the Herbarium. This includes marketing, website development, promoting public events through social media and other platforms. Incumbent is to identify the users and get the word out through marketing strategizes/plans, social media and other communication forums.

Additional responsibilities include meeting with prospective renters to show them available spaces at the Garden, maintaining a physical presence during rentals and events, corresponding with renters to provide logistical information, access, etc., Incumbent is to perform all the administrative duties relating to the Garden Rental (sales and service), such as scheduling, booking and billing rentals, assisting in administration of the membership program, setting up and breaking down events (moves chairs, tables, etc.) under supervision, handling of the Recharge Order Request (ROR)/checks for payments as well as any Facilities Service Requests (FSRs).

Incumbent is to also provide support for other projects and programs as needed such as for the Herbarium and Public Outreach activities. This includes managing the public use of the Herbarium Library and promoting and marketing space. Additionally, incumbent is to develop, manage and maintain the websites both for the Garden and Herbarium.
