Job Description Summary
Responsible for overseeing the initiation, strategic coordination, and management of training and research program operations, space and resources of a new inter-school Center (Center for Innovation & Precision Dentistry; CiPD), including interschool training and research grants as well as center-related activities. Some examples include: training grant administration, including trainees recruitment, and research travel, progress reports, trainee's grant preparation, supporting documents, review and upload IRB and IACUC protocols, database organization and record-keeping according to federal and institutional policies; coordination of training activities, coursework and workshops with affiliated partners, including Penn centers/institutes and dental associations; represent center interests on interdisciplinary committees, institutional offices as well as external organizations and funding agencies.

Performs operational monitoring of research/training activities across the Center and promotes continuous quality improvement. Provides ongoing guidance and support to Center's members and trainees for continuous quality improvement. Works autonomously, with limited oversight.

  • Manages and evaluates trainee recruitment progress and follow-up as needed. Assist in reviewing all the elements of the screening process and documentation with the Center's leadership
  • Provide overview of the required activities and kickstart training package. Plan and coordinate scientific meeting seminars, research retreats and academic activities in the center with collaborators, trainees and mentors as well as other internal and external events including customized course and workshops for trainees
  • Monitors trainee expenditures from the training grant.
  • Prepares progress reports for funding and regulatory agencies. Prepares and provides study related or programmatic reports to all necessary parties (e.g., the center leadership, principal investigator, mentor, sponsoring agency, etc.) within the program.
  • Formulates, prepares, and organizes databases, and generates a complete measurement report for review by the Center's leadership
  • Evaluates operational as well as programmatic metrics and information to continuously improve study quality and/or improved processes.
  • Coordinates and monitors all aspects of quality assurance data to ensure federal and institutional compliance. May oversee or develop processes to provide ongoing assessment and continuous quality improvement of programs.
  • Assist with preparation of grant applications and other grant related activities such as developing grant proposals, supporting documents and fundraising activities, if applicable. Collaborates with the center's leadership and institutional offices. Follows up and coordinates resolution of grant related issues as required.
  • Monitor and coordinate Center's budget and expenditures of pilot funds and inter-center joint funding. Review progress of projects and initiates actions to ensure on time and on budget project management. Collaborates closely with GMO on pilot projects and inter-center joint funding.
  • Develop and maintain center's webpage and update new content, coordinate and participate in meetings with both internal and external organizations, and fund raising
  • Develop and disseminate pertinent information and activities through symposia, lecture/forums and joint initiatives with other centers and training efforts
  • Other duties, as assigned


Compensation assigned based on experience; range starting at $80,000.

Qualifications
Master's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
