IT Administrator 4, Office of Information and Technology

Regular, Full-time - MR14

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Office of Information Technology (OIT), is seeking to hire a Senior Desktop Support Security Analyst.   This position is part of the central IT organization and will be responsible for team leadership, project management, and coordination of incident response within the Desktop Support group. This role will serve as a senior team lead and will provide guidance and mentoring to other team members as well as development and documentation of Best Practices.  


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years experience providing technical support and leadership in a computer-related field
  • Valid Driver License


  • In-depth technical knowledge across a wide range of hardware, software, and mobile platforms including Windows, macOS, Active Directory, Intune, and networking
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring of technical staff
  • Excellent communication skills along with demonstrated customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team and to prioritize assignments with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of security tools and technologies, along with Best Practices
  • Three years of performing security incident response for desktops
  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with scripting or programming
  • Experience with Microsoft & Adobe licensing and purchasing agreements
  • Experience with budgeting/cost models
