The Department of Arts, Languages, & Philosophy at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is seeking a Marching Band Director to cover a planned leave of absence during the Fall 2021 semester. The successful candidate will provide leadership and instruction to the Missouri S&T Miner Marching Band.

Duties will include

    Conducting rehearsals (music and marching) and overseeing performances of the Miner Marching BandWorking with student drill designers on implementing their showsCoordinating (with the Director of Bands) a one-week pre-season camp as well as with other issues throughout the semesterCollaborating with student leadership in organizing the logistical needs of the band
The Miner Marching Band performs at all Missouri S&T home games (5-6) as well as parades in the town of Rolla (3) and other campus events. The band generally prepares 2-3 (depending on the football schedule) different field shows during the semester. These shows are designed and written by students who will receive much of their guidance by the Director of Bands over the summer and throughout the semester.

Minimum Qualifications
    Masters degree in music or related field requiredConducting and teaching experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications While it is not a prerequisite, the successful candidate should have a working knowledge of Pyware 3D software.
